Nut-Free Dairy-Free Pesto

  • 4 oz fresh basil
  • ⅓ cup sunflower seeds
  • ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  1. Place basil, sunflower seeds, garlic, and lemon juice inside the bowl of a food processor and lock the lid on top.
  2. Pulse together for 5-10 seconds and then pour in olive oil until well blended.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Scrape pesto into a jar and refrigerate or freeze until needed.
  5. Or pour over cooked pasta, enjoy!
