Recipe type: Dessert
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 8
Ingredients
2 (14 oz) cans sweetened condensed milk
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
1 graham cracker crust
To make a Graham Cracker Crust:
1¼ cup graham cracker crumbs
⅓ cup granulate sugar
⅓ cup butter, melted
Instructions
To make the Graham Cracker Crust:
In a small bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter until well combined.
Press evenly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
Refrigerate for one hour or bake at 375 degrees for 7 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let cool before filling.
To Make the Caramel Cream Pie:
First, place the unopened cans of sweetened condensed milk with the labels off into a large pot of water. (When cooked, the sweetened condensed milk turns into caramel.)
Bring water to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 3 hours, making sure the water stays above the cans.
Carefully pull the cans out with a pair of tongs and then let them cool for 3 hours or up to one day.
Open the cans and pour the caramel into large bowl, reserving ¼ cup.
Fold in the marshmallow cream.
Pour into pie shell and chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
When ready to serve, top with whipped topping and drizzle the remaining ¼ cup caramel over top.
