A Set of Dresses for My Girls!

| Filed Under: Children Sewing, Etsy Shop, Fabric, Sewing

This spring I decided that I wanted to participate in Kids Clothes Week Challenge hosted by Elsie Marley.  I have been setting aside just 1 hour a day to make a few of the pieces of clothing I wanted to make for my little ones’ summer wardrobe.  So far I have been able to make both Penelope and Eloise one dress each, hot dog!
I made this fun flutter sleeve dress for Penelope, I used Amy Butlers’ Soul Blossoms for the main fabric.

I really love the colors for summer, it makes me so happy whenever I look at it.  You may be seeing it as a custom order in the shop very soon! 🙂

Penelope really loves this dress as you can tell by all her wild and crazy dance moves she is doing in this picture, she loves to twirl in it!  She loved it even more after she saw the dress I made for Eloise…

And here is Ellie’s dress!
Yup, Penny absolutely fell in love with the idea of being twins with Ellie, how cute it that!
I used the same Amy Butler fabric but changed the dress style so the girls weren’t too matchy matchy.
I love the retro look of this A-line crossover pinafore.
And if we get a chilly day this summer I can even have her wear it with a onesie underneath…I love being able to get a lot of use out of children’s clothing!

I also made Ellie a sweet little diaper cover too…

Here is a ‘lil lookie lou at her modeling her sweet little pinafore.

Sorry about all the random clothing angles, this girl is always on the move!
This is the best I could get of the front, she kept trying to eat my phone.  At least you can get an idea of the length, the dress sits at just above the knee.
Okay, so back to the studio I go to pick out more fabric…I’m going to try to get another hour of sewing in while Noah is at preschool.
XOXO,

Did you use the pattern for the crossover back top? I think I might love that style of top, like, A LOT. I’ve been peering around for patterns but I think I might just have to make it up… unless you can help me out?

Love it love it love it ~ They’re so cute together! You did a great job. I wish boys clothes were that easy to whip together cuz I don’t think Parker would like wearing a dress even if he had trash trucks printed all over it!

So cute! I love that Penelope wants to be matchy! 🙂 Ellie’s dress is the perfect length. Her squishy thighs are also perfect. 🙂

So so cute! I love cordinating, but not “matching.” I try to work that angle, too.

Your girls are so cute! I just finished dresses tonight for my baby and my 5-year-old. The 5-year-old loves matching and the baby just doesn’t care. She spits up on it about 5 minutes later anyway…

Is there any chance that you have any pink & tangerine fabric?? I’m pretty sure that it is an impossible combination, because I have a way of making things harder for myself, by thinking of combinations that don’t really go together.

My daughter’s 1st birthday is less than a month away and I’m looking for the most perfect shirt for the Tutu I’m making for her and the Tutu are those colors.
Although, that heart shirt might look stellar with either of those color hearts… and it just occurred to me I should have just written you through your Etsy shop… and I’m processing my thoughts while writing a message… long story summary.. Do you have any pink & tangerine fabric?

      Sam 🙂

I used to make the outfit you made Ellie for my girls many years ago. I’m not sure what I did with the pattern, but now that I have a grand-daughter I would love to make her some. Where can I find the pattern? Love it!!!!!

So cute… do you have a tutorial for the diaper cover that matches the little pinafore dress? I love it and would love to make some that match the dress little material for my little girls!
      Thanks,
