Chevy has let my family test out a new Chevy Traverse for a week! We were soooo excited to put it to the test for a whole week. As you know, being a family of 6 means we have stuff – and lots of it. Especially when we travel. Four large car seats, a stroller, potty seat, back packs, coolers, etc. We planned on doing a few big day trips while we had the Traverse to see how we liked the seating, the comfort, the cargo space, the overall safety, and just how it made our day-to-day life easier.
The Chevy Traverse has seating for up to 8 on some models.* It has major cargo space, which is why it is best-in-class max cargo space for midsize SUVs. Now with four little ones in car seats we thought we were forever stuck with a minivan if we ever wanted to go anywhere together as a family. So it’s super good to know that we can fit our entire family (and our 4 huge car seats!) in the Chevy Traverse and our on-the-go lifestyle isn’t cramped one bit. Isn’t it nice to know that having four kids doesn’t mean you are relegated to driving a “mommy van”… and yes, that is my husband you can hear letting out a huge sigh of relief, lol!
My husband and I were looking forward to taking a few day trips with the kids where we could relax in such a rich and refined interior, so unlike our minivan, ha! Is it weird to also tell you how excited I was to try out the Bluetooth® integration** so I could chat with my mom while waiting to pick up my older kids from summer camps during the week? You know how it goes at home: I can barely make a phone call without someone interrupting me! Plus you can hook up your phone and access your music account and Pandora®*** so we can car dance to all our favorite songs just like we do at home (minus the car part!)…yippee! And knowing how my kids get a ridiculous amount of skinned knees in just the summer months alone I realize I cannot keep them safe all the time so I was really happy to see that the Chevy Traverse has a NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety**** plus the available industry’s first-ever Front Center Air Bag.***** If anything, during my week of test driving the Chevy Traverse I will feel safe and know my kids are safe…a huge weight off my shoulders for sure! I am excited to see how it makes our family’s life a little bit easier as we look at our car as a home away from home! Check out the video I created for you below to see my thoughts before we hit the road for the week:
Love, Maggie

How was the gas mileage? 🙂

(see my below comment) I find the gas mileage to be just average, but I’m pretty sure it’s better than some of the bigger SUV’s, of course.

My last two vehicles have been Traverses. It functions perfectly for us, tho we are now down to just two kids at home and I’m wondering if I should go smaller….thinking not just yet because it’s great for road trips, etc. My husband has the brand new Impala with EVERYthing; my Traverse (’12) lacks the computer panel in front so I’m thinking it’s time to get a new one. Can’t believe I’m going to get the same car not just twice but THREE times in a row!!!
