Big Brothers and Little Sisters

| Filed Under: Life with Kids

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day!

It is so neat to be able to watch Noah and Penny’s sibling relationship grow from the day she came home from the hospital. I have a big brother so I am a little sister, but I have no idea how our relationship grew to be. From the very beginning, Noah couldn’t wait to shower Penny with hugs and kisses. He would jump up on our sofa and pat his lap so that he could hold her. It was so sweet. Later, as she grew older, he would want to help diaper her and bring her clothes and blankets to stay warm. When she started to eat solids he would get her a bib and then proceed to put one on himself (even though Clif or I haven’t been able to get him to wear one since he was 18 months old!) so that she knew what it was used for. He would even help her with her sippy cup, trying to teach her how to drink from the straw. Now, as Noah is 2 1/2 and Penelope is 10 months old, he can feed her her morning yogurt…although sometimes it gets a little messy. She giggles when she hears him laugh and then he laughs to get her going some more. It’s amazing how she doesn’t know life without him and he probably doesn’t remember life without her…oh, how I wish that their relationship could be so sweet and loving and giggly forever…but I know better…I have 3 siblings of my own.
