We both had this morning off from work so we decided to take the littles to a children’s museum since it’s been a while since we’ve been to one. Lucky for us, the greater Chicago suburbs places us near quite a few. We chose the Kohl’s Children’s Museum in Glenview, one of our top 3 favorites in IL, since we had a Whole Foods stop we wanted to make in that direction. My alltime favorite children’s museum in the Chicago area is the one at Navy Pier in Chicago and then a close second is the Dupage Children’s Museum in Naperville. If you have little ones in the preschool years these are nicely geared toward them.
The kids had a blast today. Penelope is such a great age to be doing this stuff with, she can walk around by herself and play with so many of the different exhibits now that she is so mobile. Noah just loves pretend play and mechanical things, he gets so excited going into each room and seeing what is there. Some examples of the exhibits the kids can play with at the Kohl’s museum are a kids size version of a grocery store, a kids size Potbelly sandwich restaurant, a veternarian clinic, a carwash exhibit, a water room and lots of hands on build-it-yourself exhibits. Basically, lots of fun stuff that even mommas and daddy’s want to play too! What a day, what a day, what a day!
