A few weeks ago I put together a few fun little gifts for my kids’ teachers and a few friends and I have been meaning to share them with you for a while now but kept getting sidetracked, aack! Every day I’m hustling. <– it’s so true. I thought it would be fun to make a little gifty snack box with a couple of apples, my favorite caramels, and of course a small container of caramel dip to spread a little happiness and thanks to our wonderful teachers and good friends! We happen to be right in the middle of apple season here in Chicago and lucky for us we happen to live by quite a few amazing orchards where we can go and pick apples right off the tree every day of the week if we choose. It is so much fun, I highly suggest you go if you get the chance. My kids beg to go apple picking every weekend and we love it so much we oblige, ha! I like to pick a bunch of different varieties when we go and I try to mix it up between larger apples for making applesauce and pies, and then smaller teeny apples that are the perfect size for my littles to eat without wasting them!
I thought our abundance of apples would be especially nice for our teachers as a fun snack during their busy day. I volunteer in the littles’ classes as well as in the school a few days each month and whenever I go I like to bring either our teachers or the staff a little something to brighten their day. I think this fit the bill nicely. These gift boxes were so much fun to put together! To pretty up the box, I placed a paper doily on top of each box, tied it up in twine, and added a tag that said, “Have a Happy Day” and I sure hope they did!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a lovely weekend!!
Love,
Maggie
