This Free Silhouette File Teacher Canvas Bag Gift is the perfect Back To School gift idea for the fabulous teachers in your life.
Hello everyone! Happy Back to School! My kids went back to school at the end of August but life was still busy around these parts and I am finally getting some time to post some of my fun back to school ideas. I know many of your kiddos have probably started school already but my motto is that there is never a timeline for giving gifts! Gifts are welcome anytime!!!
One thing I love to do is to send in gifts for the teachers for the first day of school but we actually handed these out at our orientation day this year which is when the kids meet their teachers, find their classrooms, and drop off all their school supplies. I found these great canvas bags last year at Target but I’m sure you could find some similar looking bags online…or if you are crafty enough you could make your own! How cute is the loose leaf paper look of them?!I always envisioned doing a fun Teacher definition on this bag because I just love those funny definitions you see online like “Mother: 1. One who loves you no matter what. 2. Superwoman.” So I created this file which I think would also be great as wooden board decor or those little wood plaques for their desk.

And here are a few must remember rules for using HTV (heat transfer vinyl):
- Make sure to always flip the image horizontally before cutting your HTV!
- Always cut HTV on the non-shiny side.
- Also always prep the fabric you are using with the HTV by heating/ironing it first!
By the way, I use this Heat Press and I love it! It makes working with HTV a breeze! It literally takes me 15 seconds to prep my fabric, 15 seconds to apply the HTV, and then another 15 seconds to set the HTV with a final press of heat.
I filled the canvas bags with these school supply packs I found at Costco and they fit perfectly! I did look on Amazon (here) and you can actually buy them there as well if you don’t live near a Costco. You can even get them with Prime free shipping! I thought there was a good assortment of supplies that our teachers could use in this pack and you know how teachers can always use more supplies! I hope our teachers loved them just as much as I did making them!!
