How to Grocery Shop with a Toddler

Now that my 3 oldest are in school full time much of my day is spent with my littlest guy. He’s my little errand running buddy, my sidekick.  I love having this special one on one time with him as I really get to see his personality shine through. The way he sees the world and how much he knows through the big words he can say. It always amazes me the conversations we have. He is such a smart little guy and he seems to know so much…and exactly what he wants (enter those terrible three’s)…that some days grocery shopping with him can be hard. In the cart, out of the cart. Can I get this momma? Hey, I’m free to run the aisles. Those with little ones know what a challenge going anywhere with a little one can be and how feeding them a snack can really be an insanity saver!Sprout Organic Toddler Snacks // SmashedPeasandCarrots.com
Sprout Organic Toddler Snacks // SmashedPeasandCarrots.comThe first thing I tend to do when I go grocery shopping at our local Jewel-Osco is head to the toddler snack aisle (usually together with the baby things like diapers) and I pick up a box of Sprout® Organic toddler food. Oliver loves the flavors and I love that they are prepackaged packets so that the whole box doesn’t get spilled all over the floor! It is also really important to me that they are USDA certified organic and Non-GMO and I like that they have honest flavor names that match their ingredient list. Nourishing his little mind and body with real, honest, pure ingredients is important to me so he can keep up with his ever-growing light saber skills and ninja rolls (which are really his somersaults, lol!) and continue learning all the marvel comic characters, haha! I tell you this kid amazes me with all the things stored in his 3-year old brain!

If you have small babies, Sprout® Organic also have a line of baby food pouches which use BPA Free packaging. They are the only baby/toddler food brand that doesn’t use acid preservatives (e.g. citric acid, ascorbic acid or lemon juice concentrate) which can upset baby’s system and there are no no additives, fillers or flavors in any of its recipes.

It is the only way I can get him to sit in the cart these days and a momma has to do what a momma has to do sometimes! Once he is eating I can race through the store and finish picking up the rest of the items on my list while he is happy and contained!

And that is how you shop with a toddler, lol!
