I Must Be Out of My Mind.

I did something this weekend that I have never done before…
I went to Joann’s and bought a whole bunch of fabric.
But not just any fabric…
Enough fabric to make each of my little ones their own Halloween costume.
Noah has been asking to be a certain someone for Halloween.
every. single. day.
After about 3 weeks of listening to him ask/beg, I asked Penelope if she would like to be another certain someone cause after all, I love to have my kids in coordinating costumes (see last year’s costumes here).  I had an idea for Eloise too so I thought if Penny was on board this just might work after all.
Now why on earth I decided to make them myself is another question.
I guess I thought they might be easy enough to whip up.
I hope they turn out!
If not, well, there is always store bought…
Can you guess what they are going to be?
XOXO,

LOL, I am the WORST guesser ever! But as soon as I saw the blue and green I started singing “Super Shapes!” in my head… Is it Super Why?

I like the the guess in the first comment! That’d be really cute. I’m making costumes for both my daughters and me, it’s a lot of fun. You really don’t see a lot of handmade costumes anymore(at least not in my area) and it really gives you a one-of-a-kind costume. I can’t wait to see what you make!

      I see Mario, Luigi & Princess Peach….

My son wants to be an angry bird. He wants me to be the king pig, our seven week old to be the egg that was stolen from him and his 2 year old sister to be another angry bird. Our oldest daughter won’t join our team of angry birds. She wants to be a peacock! lol. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to make an egg bunting. 🙂

I am doing the unthinkable as well. I can’t even tell you how many sheets of felt I bought or how many hours I am going to be putting into this. At least what I have done so far is looking good.

My mom made my Halloween costume for me every year when I was growing up. I’m an only child, so it didn’t take as much time for her.
I remember having so much fun designing the costume with her and helping her make it. I actually learned to sew by making these costumes.

So even though this is going to be hard work for you, it’s going to be great for your kids. They’ll appreciate what you’re doing for them and it’ll definitely be worth it.

I must be crazy too then..lol I went for the Columbus Day sale and bought fabric to make my youngest her costume. Totally was not planning on making any costumes until a week ago when she decided to join in with her preschool friends. Good luck to us both…lol

I was going to say angry birds but maybe only because that’s what we are being this year ~ my husbands the pig lol. I have a super detailed tutorial on my blog if you want to check it out ~ four birds and a pig! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
