I was sent an advanced copy of the book, Knitting from the Center Out, by Daniel Yuhas and can I just say Holy Wowza! (Yeah, sometimes being a craft blogger has its perks!) This book is pretty awesome. It has 28 patterns plus tutorials to help any skill level knitter learn the basic steps like cast-ons and using double-pointed needles, etc in circular knitting. I also loved that the subtitle to this book is, “An Introduction to Revolutionary Knitting with 28 Modern Projects”…the term ‘revolutionary’ also meaning ‘circular’…gotta love word play!
There is a huge variety of projects in the book, ranging from hats and mittens, to toys, and even sweaters. I had no clue you could make a sweater using circular knitting!
This little cap is on my needles as I type! How cute will this be on Oliver’s wee head!
I also really love this Coral Necklace found in the I-Cord project section. It’s so funky, a total statement piece…LOVE!
Ahhh, a hoodie pattern? You had me at hello, Hood-Down Hoodie. This just looks so dang comfy…and perfect for those chilly winter days we will be having soon.
And like I mentioned earlier, the back of the book has a whole bunch of Tutorials to help you learn how to knit in the circular. There are great step-by-step photographs that walk you through casting-on, using double-pointed needles or circular needles plus a whole lot more, so if knitting in the round has ever scared you off this is the book to get to encourage you to give it a go!
If you are a knitter, you will definitely love (and want) this book! Maybe as an early Christmas pressie to yourself? That way you can whip up a few of these super cute projects for Christmas presents. Just thinking ahead for you 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today!
