So, I have been sewing up some fun things lately in my bits of time where Ellie is sleeping, Penelope is taking her afternoon nap and Noah is partaking in a little Super Why. Some as gifts for others and some just for my own personal use…yay me! A few of the goodies I have made are from tutorials from Anna’s blog, Noodleheads. I’m sure you all know Anna, and if you don’t well, get yourself over to her blog and see all the goodness she has there. Lots of eye candy and zipper-y fun plus a whole lot of great and easy-to-follow tutorials!
When I first saw her gathered clutch I fell in love, I mean they were all so cute AND customizable! I was finally able to make a bunch and can I just say WOW! She is right, the hardest part is picking out your fabric combinations 🙂 Since I crowned this year as “The Year of Handmade Goodness” and have been diligently making all the gifts that our family has been giving for birthdays, new babies and other special occasions, these clutches will definitely be added to my ever growing birthday list (yeah, so almost everyone in my family has a birthday between September and December, nards!!) and oh yeah, my Christmas list too!
Here are a couple of the clutches I have made and some additions that I did to them 🙂
Pretty gathered clutches 🙂
I love this one…I might just keep it for myself!!
I used my favorite pink Art Gallery fabric here, from the Girly Girl line, and am consequently very sad because now all I have left are scraps {super sad face!}
With this clutch you can see I just did Anna’s credit card pockets…
And then I added a rolled fabric flower on the front. I just hot glued a scrap of felt to the back and then hot glued a brooch pin to that. This way you can take off the flower if need be.
And here’s a pretty flower-y clutch…
On the outside of this one, I added a layered felt flower and I sewed on a pretty vintage button in the middle to bling it out a bit!
Here’s what the inside of this clutch looks like…does this fabric look familar from this post? 🙂
With this clutch I added two sets of pockets, one set per lining. I made the pockets on one side their full depth as opposed to making them ‘credit card’ sized. On the other side I divided the fabric into 3 mini pockets. I thought it would be nice for lipgloss or change or even a little bottle of hand sanitizer. FUN!
Alright, so that’s all…
What have you been making lately?
Do tell, I’m still looking for more gifts for my list!!
Happy Friday!!

Love the fabric combos. I still need to try these. I also like the year of handmade goodness but think I might only be able to handle Christmas or birthdays.
