…Please Don’t Go!! It’s so sad to see a weekend coming to an end, isn’t it? We had such a wonderful weekend thanks in part to some beautiful weather spring weather. And can you believe when I looked at the weather report the day before each day this weekend they were always calling for RAIN! Ugh, why is meteorology even a job!?!
This weekend we made the trek to Long Grove, IL for their annual Chocolate Fest. Ahhh yes, it’s a pregnant woman’s dream come true. Everything chocolate is right there at your fingertips…pure indulgence! They have all things chocolate as far as your eye can see. Chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate drizzled popcorn, chocolate-dipped caramels, chocolate martinis (which I did NOT partake in, thankyouverymuch!), and my all-time favorite the chocolate-covered donut!!
The kids had so much fun running around and burning off their chocolate-driven energy:
Mom, I need more chocolate!
Getting balloon animals:
Noah with his Giraffe
(Penelope’s elephant was deflated by here little chompers mere minutes after being made…so no picture of that!)
And this momma was lovin’ on the chocolate-covered donuts:
Eh, this is a total fat-face preggie picture, but I’m OK with that!
I really should have bought a dozen of those babies…SO good!
Ahh, delish!!
Yeah, they were freakin’ good, I want another! The hubs is for sure that this baby is a girl now after this weekend’s chocolate debacle. If I were given the choice (which I was) between getting an actual dinner or just grabbing sweets to eat, I chose the sweets. Yup, that’s all I ate the whole time we were there! Thank goodness I take my vitamins or I swear this baby would be a giant bag of sugar when it comes out!
We also headed to the the Farmer’s Market in Madison, WI this weekend too. If you live anywhere near Madison you should definitely head up there one Saturday. It is the largest producer-only farmer’s market in the country…how super cool is that! So basically that means all the vendor’s must make or produce the items they sell, no re-sale allowed of any sort! We loaded up on beautiful breads and some plants for our garden which we FINALLY planted this weekend! Here’s to hoping we get a good harvest this year!
How was your weekend??

Oh my gosh, this post made me laugh out loud! That pic of your daughter is both adorable and hilarious! That intense stare is definitely a somewhat panicked “Mom, I’m out of chocolate” face. ROFL!! Sounds like you had a great weekend! 🙂
