Can I tell y’all how excited I am to share this book with you today? Amanda Kingloff, former lifestyle director at Parents magazine, put together a new book called Project Kid which is a bold new book full of smarter crafting that takes creating projects with kids to a whole new level. If you have littles, you will definitely want this book before school lets out for summer…or if you haven’t had your Spring Break yet it would be such a good one to have in your library to help with a whole week’s worth of “I’m booooored” calls from your kiddos.
I was so pumped to review this book (which is on sale today!!!) as my little ones were coming up on their Spring Break and I am always, always, always on the lookout for creative and different things to do with them. The book is chock full of full-color, step by step photographs and super easy to follow instructions. I love that many of the projects use just reusable and affordable materials like this K-Cup Door Chime above. How freakin’ cool is that? What a great way to use all those empty cups. Genius!!!
I also love this felt Mushroom and Snail. My Penelope is really into sewing these days and this is a perfect little project for her to make all on her own. I can’t help but love that miniature mushroom either…with a wine cork stem, gah…LOVE!And of course there are lots of fun projects that boys might gravitate towards like this Newspaper Pirate Ship. Noah was all about it!
I think this book really puts such a smart spin on crafting with kids. It’s not the same old boring macaroni art projects at all, it really is full of fresh new ideas using things in new and innovative ways. I think so many of these projects would even be great for preschool and elementary school art classes. So if you know a teacher this would be a great book to gift them!
If you are interested in purchasing Project Kid it went on sale starting today, you can get it here if you’d like!!!
