Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie

As much as I love summer, I have to admit that having all four of my littles home All. Day. Long. can be trying. They have so much energy and it seems to grow and bounce off one another that sometimes I feel like I need 4x the energy just to keep up with them! If you are like me and are always looking for healthful ways to get your energy up (or back!) and boost your radiance throughout the day, then you will love one of my favorite Smoothie Recipes I am sharing today for my Energizing Green Smoothie Recipe. It is chockfull of healthy veggies and fruits and I would say that drinking one of these (which helps me get my vitamins and other vital nutrients in my diet) along with making sure I make time for myself to get to the gym or go running with friends, are important ways in which I try to live radiantly… even in the summer! Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie

This recipe contains Kale, Cucumber, Celery, Lemon, Pineapple, and a bit of Ginger and all together they make one heck of a smoothie that keeps me going! I tend to make one in the afternoon (or sometimes for lunch!) when I feel like my energy is waning and I just need healthful boost to get me through until dinner. If you love this smoothie you might also like my Spicy Green Smoothie!

Here is what you will need to make your own:

Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie

Energizing Green Smoothie
Recipe Type: Beverages
Prep time: 5 mins
Total time: 5 mins
Serves: 2
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple pieces
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 cup kale, washed
  • 1 lemon, peeled and de-seeded
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 1/2 inch piece of ginger, peeled
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients, in order, in the container of a Vitamix or other strong blender. Blend for 1 minute at high speed or until smooth.
  2. Enjoy!

Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie

Make sure to wash all your fruits and veggies prior to blending them! Also, I don’t peel my cucumber but I do peel my ginger and lemon. I try to de-seed my lemon as much as I can but sometimes there are just too many seeds to deal with so they get blended too! If you use a Vitamix, this blender does an amazing job of making everything smooth and seed-free! And you can use fresh, frozen, or canned pineapple, just try to get the frozen or canned variety without added sugar! Recipe: Energizing Green Smoothie I always add my water first and then continue placing the rest of the ingredients on top. Place the cap on the container and blend away until nice and smooth!       How I stay radiant during the day is that I eat well and get enough sleep, and make sure to exercise every day. I also primp by getting myself a nice hair style and a manicure! It always makes me feel better when I take care of myself.
