Spicy Ginger Lemonade with Organic Stevia in the Raw

Who says lemonade is just for drinking in the summer heat? You can enjoy this Spicy Ginger Lemonade instead of plain water for an every day thirst quencher! Spicy Ginger LemonadeOne of my health goals this year has been to increase my water intake. I used to be a big water drinker in high school and college but I’ve noticed over the last few years that I am tending to drink less water than ever. I think it’s just mommy mode. You know, the one that can get everyone else’s water bottles and snacks ready to go but some way, some how you never brought anything for yourself? Or when you finally do bring your own water bottle, a little someone is SO thirsty that thy HAVE to drink out of your bottle and then you see the dreaded floaties in there…yep, no water for mom!Spicy Ginger Lemonade

“That’s okay! Momma’s not that thirsty, you can have her water!” I feel like I have been saying (errr, living) this particular phrase for the past 10 years of having kids. Mom eats last and drinks water only when she feels a headache coming on. Well, no more! 2017 is my year!!! I feel like I have been pretty good about re-booting my mind around drinking 8-10 glasses (if not more!) of water a day and not only do I feel better, my skin looks so much better too. I can’t believe how I never noticed how dehydrated the skin on my face looked before, yikes!
Spicy Ginger LemonadeIt was hard to get in the habit of drinking more water at first but after a while it just became second nature again. I always drink a glass of water when I wake up and before I go to bed. And I will say it has definitely helped to go to the gym or to work out everyday because I make myself drink a full water bottle (3 glasses full) during my workout. I also always drink a glass of water before I eat or with my meals, it just depends on the type of meal I am eating. The other super helpful thing I have done to get more water is to make this quick and super yummy Spicy Ginger Lemonade. It is crazy easy to make and is very low in sugar so you can drink a whole pitcher…or half a pitcher!…and get that water in for the day!

Spicy Ginger Lemonade

I know I call this a lemonade but honestly, it is really more of a lemon water…with a twist! I love the spiciness of ginger so I add fresh ginger (plus it is so good for digestion!) and for a touch of sweetness I add a packet of Organic Stevia In The Raw because I love that it is a USDA Organic Certified, Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, and gluten free sweetener. It is perfect sweetening any beverage (hot or cold). And you can toss it in your bag for when you are on the go.

I really hope you try this recipe, it is so easy and tastes amazing!

i am still using the big bottle I got from the hospital when I gave birth almost 7 months ago. Its 28 oz, has a straw, a handle and I only have to refill the 3-4 times a day, I love it! It helps that I’m always thirsty because of nursing too.
