This ‘Sweep the Leg’ Free Silhouette Cut File is the perfect snarky DIY project to fancy up a dustpan or broom. Seeing this quote, from Karate Kid movie fame, will get you motivated to Clean. All. The. Things. or at least laugh while you get some sweeping done!
I know it seems weird to fancy up a dust pan but I was putting together a housewarming gift for a good friend and thought it would be fun to add in some new cleaning supplies along with some homemade treats as well as all the other essential goodies I need to gift to someone who is moving into their new home. If anything it will make her laugh every time she pulls it out to sweep up some crumbs!
If you ever watched Karate Kid as a child…or teenager…or heck, even watched it for the first time with your kids…you will remember a few classic lines from that movie. In no particular order:
- “Wax on, Wax off.”
- “No Mercy”
- “Finish Him!!!”
- Daniel-son (of course anytime I meet any one named Daniel I secretly call them this in my head every time I refer to them!)
- “Sweep the leg”
Now we may or may not say these lines to our children on occasion (especially fun when we are playing basketball outside!) and I have been known to make a few letter boards from these classic quotes to hang around my home too…I can’t help it they are just funny to me! (affiliate links present)
Like I said, this was part of a housewarming gift which can include any number of fun things. Here are a few of my favorite gifts I’ve put together in the past in case you are looking or some fun ideas!
I happen to find these cute dustpans in the Target Dollar Spot for a few bucks (along with a bunch of super cute spray bottles, sponges, rubber gloves, etc) it was a gold mine of fun colorful shopping for me one afternoon. I also found this super cool looking dustpan on amazon that would be a fun gift to give someone because, cool handle!!!
To make this snarky little dustpan, you will need a Silhouette cutting machine, some vinyl (I like this brand), and some transfer tape like this one.
You can find my .studio3 file here: Sweep the Leg Once you cut out the design and peel it, you will press the transfer tape over top and which will pick up the entire design. Then transfer it to your dustpan, press it onto the dustpan’s top surface, and then peel the transfer tape away! I loved this so much I actually made a second one for our kitchen! Now we can laugh every time we use it too!
