Thumbprint Pendants for All!

| Filed Under: Adult, Gift Ideas, Tutorials

I just wanted to let you know about some more Mother’s Day gifts I have been making this week. I found the most darling tutorial for thumbprint pendants on The Crafty Crow. They are really super easy and they are the freakin’ cutest things.
All you need is some clay, waxed paper, rolling pin of some sort, a toothpick and a little ones thumb and presto you have yourself the most adorable hand-made pendant. In the tutorial she says to make the pendant about 1/4″ thick but I made mine much thinner, probably about 1/16″ cause I knew I wanted to wear two pendants, one for Penelope and Noah (and a third itty bitty baby thumbprint sometime this summer for Bean III), and a 1/4″ thick just seemed like too much.
These babies only took 30 minutes to make, from kneading the clay to baking in the oven. So, if you are still looking for a gift these are perfect cause you could really crank ’em out today or tomorrow or hey, even on Mother’s Day morning. Here is a look at how I styled mine:

I used black satin cord here and two separate jump rings…LOVE!

Here I used a white satin cord and three jump rings, one for each pendant and one to connect them together to the cord.

And then I did this one using waxed cord and stringing both pendants through separately.
I LOVE them all!!
And I LOVE these guys:

Who wouldn’t want to wear a little thumbprint pendant of these cuties!?!
OK, so maybe minus the chips in the mouth and the ‘mom, I am NOT wearing my clothes today’ fashion statement.

The “OK, so maybe minus the chips in the mouth and the ‘mom, I am NOT wearing my clothes today’ fashion statement.” make this more real! I love it!
