Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you didn’t already know, we happen to love Valentine’s Day in our house! It is a day just so full of love and hugs and happiness…we can’t get enough..and we surely need more of all of those things in the world!! I thought it would be fun to do some Valentine’s crafting in the form of baking up some sugar cookies for four of my favorite Valentines because they are the best little kids any mommy could ask for in the world! I had a feeling they would love getting to decorate them any which way they pleased…and they sure did!
I found these fun Valentine’s “Val-Pal” 3-D cookie cutters from Bakery Crafts at Walmart in the Valentines aisles and thought they would be fun to try out. If you can believe it, I have never used a 3-D cookie cutter before! And just so you know, they were super easy to use…and clean!
We spent one afternoon baking up my favorite sugar cookie recipe found HERE (seriously the best sugar cookies ever!) and then I let the kids go to town decorating them. They had so much fun crafting up their own animals and could not wait for the icing to dry so they could put together their cookie creations! Some of the children, ahem Ellie and Oliver, had a more is more motto with the icings. You can imagine how Ellie’s 3-D cookie turned out from her picture above, ha!
I have to say our cookies turned out quite nice! There was a moment when we were putting them together where I thought that they would never stand upright with the amount of icings we used but they did and each of them looked perfect! 
This was such a fun afternoon activity for my kids and me! We were laughing so hard at how some of the lion and elephants turned out…we definitely had some one of a kind animals in our Valentine zoo!!!
