Why?…Why?…Why?….this is a word that we have been hearing a lot of lately in our house. Noah seems to be at the stage where that inevitable ‘Why?’ is being asked after everything we say. He wants, or should I say NEEDS, to know WHY, WHY, WHY?!?!?!?
Get your shoes on…Why?
Brush your teeth…Why?
Don’t hit your sister…Why?
Put your toys away…Why?
Stop standing on the chair…Why?
Don’t sit on your sister…Why?
and on and on and on…
Looking at the bright side of the constant interrogation by my little secret agent, at least it’s not ‘No’ at the end of everything we say (thank goodness that phase is over and done with…until Penny gets there anyways!) And I have to say, I think it’s pretty freakin’ neat to see him able to question things, listen to our response, think about what we said, and then figure out his next question. His brain is totally working it with a different kind of learning. So far to date, his questions have been easy to answer, just questions about the day to day stuff we do. I haven’t had to answer ‘Why is the sky blue?’ yet…but if I ever do I already have my answer all tucked inside my pocket all ready and waiting…’Go ask your Father.’ Yeah, the hubby will love that one! 😉
‘Mom, why can’t I pull up a chair to the sink and play with the faucet for 3 hours?‘
