Oh my gosh! How cute is this book!! And even though I am partial because of the cute little pea and carrot on the cover I really must say that “You are the Pea, and I am the Carrot” by J. Theron Elkins is one of the sweetest children’s books I’ve read.
I was sent this book to review and it has been the best addition to our evening reading here in our home. It is an adorable story of friendship with each page talking about why these two friends belong together.
The pictures, illustrated by Pascal Lemaitre, are just precious. My kids really enjoy flipping the pages and giggling over how they brought so many fun food combinations to life…peanut butter and jelly…
…and salsa and chips just to say a few. And another wonderful thing about this book is that it is a great read for young readers! My Noah is in first grade and he can get through this book all by himself. I feel like this will be his generations, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs…the story and pictures are ones you will remember for a lifetime!
