Random Things…

| Filed Under: Life with Kids, Things I love

I just felt like posting some random things that I have been lovin’ lately…don’t know why, just cause I love them I guess.
We were finally able to get Noah to stop wearing his Fireman Monkey shirt and Blue Striped pants (remember this post?) that was his uniform for over a good straight month in December and January, how you ask? We had to make a run to Target and buy 4 more…on clearance thank goodness!
3 were for him (now we have Monkey shirt, Hockey Monkey Shirt and No Teeth Monkey shirt) and then we also were requested to buy one for Penelope in her size (the No Teeth Monkey one) so that they could match. How could we turn down an adorable request like that??
Love it!
I’ve been totally loving grapefruit right now, it’s so good and so much more fun to eat than say oranges. I eat it cut in half and sprinkled with sugar…YUM! A while back, my momma gave me a set of grapefruit spoons with the little ridges on the side and I think they are the greatest thing ever. It makes eating grapefruit even more fun! I’ve been eating it for breakfast, lunch and snacks in between…LOVE!
My momma also sent out a box a long time ago, when Noah was a babe, with a bunch of my old books. We had them out to read for a few months but then he got to the ‘I wanna eat paper and tear books up’ stage so we put them away. I recently found the stash in our guest bedroom closet and pulled a bunch of them out for him and Penny to read now that they are both past that trashing books stage…well, for the most part.
This book (above) was one of my absolute favorites. It’s totally beat up and even has the spine all taped up but hey, it’s still readable. The inside front cover even has my name and age I received it (5 years old!) and that it was a gift when I started Kindergarten!!! So cool…totally loving inscriptions in books!!!

And lastly, here is a video of the kidlets spinning together on Noah’s Sit N’ Spin. Remember those? They are totally making a comeback, yay for old skool! Gotta love when a brother and a sister can play together nicely!!!
Have a Great Weekend!!

I Love grapefruit too, when I was pregnant with my twins I stopped eating them with sugar and started peeling it like an orange and eating them that way, might have been a pregnancy thing though because I haven’t eaten one like that since they were born 🙂

Awww! I love the video of your children playing (nicely) together. How long can they sit and spin? Perfect how they said “bye bye” at the end of the video.

And yesss, I LOVE grapefruit! It always makes me feel so healthy. My dad brings grapefruit in huge bags since he lives close to southern Texas. I sprinkle sugar as well, usually brown sugar. It’s also good with a little vanilla extract (but that’s if you peel it and have it in a bowl) + sugar.

Thanks for sharing 🙂 made me smile!

I have to get one of those sit and spins for my little one- I bet she’d have fun!
I also giggled at your grapefruit spoon. My Gram always split a grapefruit with me. It was our special breakfast treat. I could put on as much sugar as i wanted (unless mom was there!) and we used spoons just like the one you described. ah, I miss those days! 😉

You know what is soo good? Take the grapefruit sprinkled with sugar and put it under the broiler for a few minutes. It really releases all the grapefruit juice and caramelizes the sugar!! Yummy!
