Wondering what I have been up to lately? Sometimes I wonder that myself. Each day always seems jam-packed and as the days before this baby arrive whittle down I can’t help but think, “I NEED more time!” Because soon enough I will have a sweet little babe to hold in my arms and nurse…oh, how I love that season of life so much even though it means less “me” time and all that jazz. Good stuff.
I am cutting, cutting, cutting away into this gorgeous 100% organic cotton fabric as part of some fun sewing tutorials I am doing with Birch Fabrics and Fabricworm. I just adore this fabric, it feels so silky soft and the prints are just perfect for boys and girls alike…you will love them, just sayin’.
My favorite UPS man trudged a whole bunch of uber heavy bolts of Denyse Schmidt’s Flea Market Fancy among others to my door, what a guy…poor guy! I have been loving this line since the day she designed it and now that it is being reprinted I took it as my opportunity to scoop it up! Cute little girlie dresses in the shop, anyone!?
Due to said fabric delivery(ies) my sweet, sweet husband took it upon himself to create fabric shelving just for all those full-size bolts. He had this bookcase done in two days, TWO days I said, and that includes all his fancy schmancy woodwork routing stuff and super duper perfecting…yup, you are looking at Mr. Perfectionist right here! And that is with working his usual 8-10 hours at our office, what a guy 🙂
He even moved all my fabric-laden bookcases from these posts here and here and a whole bunch of other furniture into my new sewing studio! This is just a little peek at the awesomeness that I get to create in now, woot! I’ll share more with you on my new studio soon, I have just a few more things I want to do before the big reveal 🙂 And on the plus side of the big move, we now have a fully functioning dining room again, all clean and tidy, and I have myself one large room in our house just for sewing and crafting…LOVE!
The kids and I have been trying to suck up all the sun we’ve had in Chicagoland lately and do some picnicking, one of my favorite parts of the warmer weather! I remember having such fond memories of Lunchables, what a treat they would be as my momma made pretty much everything from scratch and as healthful as can be too. Man, have times changed…no me gusta! They just aren’t the same….or maybe I just realize how awful they really are for you. My kids didn’t like them either which I was pretty cool with to say the least.
We’ve done a lot of rock climbing…
And lemonade-drinking…
And yesterday I even did my first furniture rehab project ever, can you believe it! It was so fun and turned out sooo freakin’ cute and exactly what I had hoped for. I’ll share it with you next week…oooh, the suspense of it all!
Thanks for stopping by dudes!

You do realize the rest of us are jealous? So not fair! I think I’ll get a craft room in, um, let’s say 20 years, when my kids are all out of the house. Enjoy your space!
Maggie says
Oh, I felt the same way! But then with number 4 coming we have been rearranging our house and boom, this happened…you just never know! 🙂

I love your fabric organizing!!! When my husband gets back in November, i will make him fix my sewing area.
Until then, i will have to settle with unpacking after our move, and getting ready for baby. (I am now 39 weeks, how did that happen!?)
Maggie says
Oh my gosh, Jordin! Have you had that baby yet!!!

Amazing! I love what you showed of your studio. I wish that I had a fabric collection like that! Right now, all of my fabric is stuffed in the closet on hangers until we redo (including the siding) the addition. Then I’ll finally get what is now the guest room for sewing. Meanwhile, I switch back and forth from the guest room, the addition and the dining room table. It’s maddening!
Maggie says
How nice that you will have your own space soon, it really is so nice to have that!! Hopefully things get done quickly and you get to move in sooner rather than later!
Ronda says
What a great job on the shelving!
I feel the same way about Kool Aid. I lived on that stuff as a kid, now I wouldn’t drink it if you paid me. Yuck.
Maggie says
Yes, Kool Aid too! It is definitely not the same now that I’m older!!

Maggie says
