No yeast, no proofing, no fuss – just five ingredients and a hot oven.

Bagels always seemed like one of those things you just buy instead of make – yeast, proofing time, boiling before baking, the whole production. This recipe skips all of that. Five ingredients, no yeast, no waiting around for dough to rise. Mix, knead for a minute, shape, and bake.
The dough is just bread flour, baking powder, salt, and Greek yogurt, which also means a solid protein boost baked right in. From start to oven, this comes together in about 15 minutes.
It’s also just a much simpler ingredient list than what you’d find at the store. A lot of store-bought bagels have a long list of preservatives, added sugars, and dough conditioners to keep them shelf-stable – this version is five recognizable ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen, nothing processed or hard to pronounce.

The best part might be the toppings. Once the dough is shaped and brushed with egg wash, everyone can customize their own – we did one plain, one cinnamon sugar, one everything bagel seasoning, and one chocolate chip. Good for when nobody in the house can agree on one flavor.
